Happy holidays from the CNSC

Pattern of holiday icons

This year, the CNSC celebrates 75 years of nuclear regulation in Canada.

Over 7 decades of regulatory oversight to ensure the safety and security of Canadians – a proud milestone for all of us at the CNSC. We regulate every application of nuclear in Canada and we’re prepared to regulate new technologies too.

A shining star, a steaming mug and a pine tree, to represent safety, health and the environment

Despite another year of ongoing change and unprecedented challenges, our focus on protecting Canada has never stopped – and it never will. We are committed to future generations and to the peaceful use of nuclear energy around the world.

A snow globe with a dove, a wrapped gift and a chiming bell, to represent peaceful use, safe packaging and communication

We are committed to both listening and communicating because we know we cannot maintain confidence in our actions and decisions – which keep workers, the environment and the public safe – without public trust.

A gingerbread cookie, the 75 years logo and holiday lights to represent people, 75 years of nuclear regulation and nuclear energy

75 years of nuclear safety and security in Canada is no small feat. And it is one made possible by our diverse, hard-working and dedicated CNSC family. From our family to yours, wishing you a safe and happy holiday season, and all the best for 2022.
